    Simple Past
--> USE -->to talk about past and finished situations.
E.g. I drank a coffee ten minutes ago (I don’t have it anymore)

--> Forms:

Affirmative

--> Regular verbs that end -ed.

E.g. I finished the homework yesterday.

-->Irregular verbs (see the list)

E.g. Drink--> She drank a lemonade last break.

Negative
--> Didn’t + infinitive of the main verb

E.g. They didn’t do the homework.

Interrogative
--> Did/Didn’t + subject + infinitive of the main verb

E.g.
Did Marta study French?

Time expressions often used with this tense

--> Last (…)
--> (…) ago
--> Yesterday
--> 22nd September 2007
--> 1997

Exercise:

1.I got up at 10 o’clock.
2.I met my friend at 11 o’clock
3.We played cards at Jack’s coffee until 10 o’clock.
4.We saw a film at the Rex at 3 o’clock.
5.We were there till 5 o’clock.
