Simple Past
--> USE -->to talk about past and finished situations.
E.g. I drank a coffee ten minutes ago (I don’t have it anymore)
--> Forms:
Affirmative
--> Regular verbs that end -ed.
E.g. I finished the homework yesterday.
-->Irregular verbs (see the list)
E.g. Drink--> She drank a lemonade last break.
Negative
--> Didn’t + infinitive of the main verb
E.g. They didn’t do the homework.
Interrogative
--> Did/Didn’t + subject + infinitive of the main verb
E.g. Did Marta study French?
Time expressions often used with this tense
--> Last (…)
--> (…) ago
--> Yesterday
--> 22nd September 2007
